skincare 101: penny-saver face cleansers...

i'm frequently asked (by one good friend in particular) for recommendations on great skincare and cosmetic products. since i am a huge product junkie and willing to try almost any and every new product, i guess that would make me a somewhat trusted source.

the latest question posed was about face cleanser... what's a great cleanser/toner that can be found at your local drugstore... when your pockets are in a pinch? well ladies, there are tons of options. although i live by mario badescu and am a huge fan of kiehls and carol's daughter's skincare line, in a bind, i know i can always find some decent products at walgreens or cvs.

for oily skin, neutrogena's oil-free acne wash cream cleanser is great. i love that although it is a cream cleaner, it still lathers up and leaves your skin feeling super clean. you must follow up with a good moisturizer (always), especially with this cleanser.

for dry skin, cetaphil gentle skin cleanser works wonders! it's even mild enough for sensitive skin. cetaphil leaves your skin feeling clean but does not strip your faces natural oils.

for sensitive skin, aveeno's ultra-calming foaming cleanser is a great choice. it is gentle cleanser that contains feverfew, which helps reduce redness and calm irritated, sensitive skin.

alright ladies, those are my three penny-saver recommendations... don't forget the moisturizer!
