warhol factory x levi's collabo

from the nyc fashionation crew...

"Levi's has finally collaborated with the Warhol Foundation on the design and development of the very cute Warhol Factory X Levi's line. They decided to do it the right way and stage a proper runway show celebrating Andy, the Original 501 jean and the partnership with his foundation as part of the Gershwin Hotel's and VH-1's week-long celebration "Factory Craze--A Week of Warhol" to commemorate the legendary artist. chicago's own, jennifer hudson, takes home an oscar...

although we don't really talk entertainment at fashionation, i had to post this... chicago's own, jennifer hudson, took home an oscar last night after winning best supporting actor for her role in dreamgirls. i haven't seen the movie yet, but i heard her performance was spectacular. she is definitely reppin' the southside of chicago quite well!

and a shout out to my girl, leigh from bet, in the press room!

gen art's graffitecture event @ hejfina

graffiti invaded the ultra-swank boutique, hejfina, at gen art's "graffitecture" event on friday... although we had to fight to get in, the fashionation-solemates crew was able to check out the book and hejfina's merch... the book was a cool concept, but i have to argue their claim to having chicago's finest graf writers... gotta disagree on that one. we all know DARE runs the city ;). the writers also attacked the back wall of the boutique, hopefully they were cool with that... of course i had to represent for the DARE camp! lol ;)

while in vegas...

while in vegas, we had the chance to connect with the crews from fruition lv and mama/#1 hit wonder. when in vegas please check out samantha and chris over at fruition, everything to this establishment is on point. the crew is super cool and so is the merch- a fresh mix of women's and men's vintage "street" wear. the merch is definitely reminiscent of a few pieces you had in your closet back in the day, and wish you still had them. we also caught up with gabriella and the mama misses at magic. she has been around for a minute, and is representing strong for the ladies! can't wait to get the merch in solemates. peep mama to see what she has to offer...until next time

homeroom clothing's lesson plan...

class is in session... and homeroom is putting in work... and for the ladies this time around.

most of you, cutting edge ladies are probably familiar with the dope hoodies they released, which are available on www.digitalgravel.com , but homeroom has more to offer than just this, now, streetwear staple. that's because homeroom isn't your typical "streetwear" brand... actually, let's not even put them in that category.

this team is dedicated to intricate design and quality construction. each hoodie is handmade and designed by the homeroom crew. and that's not all... they got more heat on the way... any audrey fans??? (what up yoshi!)

stay tuned for more on homeroom and check them out at www.homeroomclothing.com

inspiration...compliments of vibe vixen

check out this inspiration page in the feb/mar issue of vibe vixen (fantasia cover)... i saw this and was immediately excited and inspired... the page was styled by linden elstran and photographed by monica stevenson.

tracy reese x hue

another bad (meaning good) collaboration... tracy reese, one of my fav designers, has teamed up with hue (hosiery line) for their "guest designer collection". she is their first partner, but the brand plans to continue this limited-edition hosiery collection with other dynamic designers who appreciate fashion-foward legwear.

the collection includes 6 hue by tracy reese designs (knee highs and tights) that compliment her fall 2007 collection... which hit the runway last sunday. their overall style is basic with a twist... so definitely something the everyday gals can rock.

i don't have any images yet, but stay tuned... i will post some after sunday. for more information on tracy reese and her collaboration with hue, check out WWD @ www.wwd.com.
