chicago's own, jennifer hudson, takes home an oscar...

although we don't really talk entertainment at fashionation, i had to post this... chicago's own, jennifer hudson, took home an oscar last night after winning best supporting actor for her role in dreamgirls. i haven't seen the movie yet, but i heard her performance was spectacular. she is definitely reppin' the southside of chicago quite well!

gen art's graffitecture event @ hejfina

graffiti invaded the ultra-swank boutique, hejfina, at gen art's "graffitecture" event on friday... although we had to fight to get in, the fashionation-solemates crew was able to check out the book and hejfina's merch... the book was a cool concept, but i have to argue their claim to having chicago's finest graf writers... gotta disagree on that one. we all know DARE runs the city ;). the writers also attacked the back wall of the boutique, hopefully they were cool with that... of course i had to represent for the DARE camp! lol ;)

while in vegas, we had the chance to connect with the crews from fruition lv and mama/#1 hit wonder. when in vegas please check out samantha and chris over at fruition, everything to this establishment is on point. the crew is super cool and so is the merch- a fresh mix of women's and men's vintage "street" wear. the merch is definitely reminiscent of a few pieces you had in your closet back in the day, and wish you still had them. we also caught up with gabriella and the mama misses at magic. she has been around for a minute, and is representing strong for the ladies! can't wait to get the merch in solemates. peep mama to see what she has to offer...until next time

hey ladies! so while shopping for a few brands for solemates...chicago i came across this dope brand at the united show in vegas. be on the lookout for pharmacy, its out of milan and sure to kill here in the states. shout out to ani of cyana lab showroom. she is representing phcy and we chatted it up a bit at the show. i am sooo looking forward to getting this brand into solemates...chicago for all the fly ladies to rock... tata for now

another bad (meaning good) collaboration... tracy reese, one of my fav designers, has teamed up with hue (hosiery line) for their "guest designer collection". she is their first partner, but the brand plans to continue this limited-edition hosiery collection with other dynamic designers who appreciate fashion-foward legwear.

the collection includes 6 hue by tracy reese designs (knee highs and tights) that compliment her fall 2007 collection... which hit the runway last sunday. their overall style is basic with a twist... so definitely something the everyday gals can rock.

today is the last day of openinig ceremony for the proenza schouler for target line, but most items are now available online at www.target.com. this is target's 5th installment of the GO International series that started in feb. 06, with a partnership with luella bartley.

"little myth unvierse" exhibit @ allrise gallery on milwaukee ave... chicago

check out the current urban arts exhibit, little myth universe, at the allrise gallery... i got a chance to catch the very end of the exhibits opening a few nights ago.

the exhibition features 9 artist that explore the dynamics of shared and private intimacies ...interesting.
